What’s Your Age-a-Tude?

What’s Age-a-Tude? It’s your attitude about aging. It’s what aging means to you. It’s how you define aging. It’s how aging makes you feel. It’s about how you’ll choose to age. Successful Aging has everything to do with your attitude!

Are you taking the reins of your aging experience or are you handing them over to someone else. Are you on team: “I have no say in my aging experience,” or are you in control of how you age? Well, it depends on your Age-a-Tude.

How do you view aging? Is your view positive or negative? It’s likely your views on aging are made of self-perceptions and society’s perceptions, as well as several other factors like your self-sufficiency, social situation, support system, and mindset—these become your Age-a-Tude.

Your Age-a-Tude relies on your awareness of the changes in your behavior, attitude, identity, and beliefs. Some personal and social changes can make you resent aging. It’s up to you to choose to love aging and embrace all the joy it can bring. It’s up to you to stop telling yourself you have no control in your aging experience—when, you have all the control!

Are you prepared to take a new path with a positive attitude, or will you fall into the comfort a negative attitude offers?

Answer these questions and start determining your Age-a-Tude.

  • What’s your mindset on aging?
  • Are you anti-aging? Why?
  • Are you proud of your age?
  • What do you love about aging?
  • How do you want to age?
  • What do you need to live life to the fullest?

Can you shift, change, or improve your “tude?” Yes, absolutely! Here’s how:

  • Be open-minded.
  • Shift your mindset!
  • Embrace aging.
  • Purge ageist thinking.
  • Believe in yourself!
  • Use positive self-talk.
  • Be actively engaged.

Always remember, Positive Aging requires a positive Age-a-Tude!
